Weekend Once Again.. Nice weekend.. Went to pasa malam twice in a row.. haha.. 1st day din see much.. bought a nike bag.. blah.. Then today wen there again.. bought a silver necklace.. quite nice lar, though I know of nicer ones.. haha.. but juz make do lor.. ^_^ I copied the TEAMS photo to my com liao.. Nice Nice.. wonder if I shld burn into a CD not.. Today bought Giant’s chicken.. very ncie.. the whole chicken only $5.50 and it’s super nice.. perhaps even nicer than those that are so much more expensive.. finished one du shu bao gao and I still waiting “patiently” for the wen yi column in the lian he zao bao to finish my jian bao.. Wait for 2 weeks liao.. -_-“ Sigh.. TEAMS ending in 2 more days? Though on Friday Dr Leow ( … ) is going to treat us to Sakura at East Point.. sigh.. imagine nv ever being able to step into the greenhouse again.. it’s not like school whereby we can go back and visit.. Time to say goodbye ah? Wen bac to sch for the bacteria course.. looks like it’s a complete waste of time.. And we got ourselves paranoid for no reason.. we were doing microbiology which actually means we got to handle the bacterias eg. e.coli. got to stain it ( and the Safranin stain went onto my clothes.. ) then look under microscope and so on.. then our table got 4 people, so very chaotic.. we should have moved to an empty table, dun thought of that.. lolx.. Then wen TP to clear some errors in the time table thing.. And Ruth was commenting about us handling the bacteria.. haha.. about why nv wear lab coat, only gloves.. then I hear until very paranoid.. lolx.. cause I think of the bacteria on my body.. like specially went back to sch to get paranoid.. well.. feel bad too.. later she gotta use chlorox to clean the whole greenhouse and wipe the floor of the office with ethanol.. -_-“ Sigh.. the attachment ending soon.. I din used to look forward to it.. then I got more interested in it.. and these few days got more things to do and it attracted me more.. and now It’s gonna be all over.. sigh.. after this, we’ll nv ever be able to step into the greenhouse again ( unless I go TP as a Applied Science student, or else 4get about getting in, our teachers can’t even go in.. ) Well.. thinking about it, I juz feel sadz.. =’( and then the rest of dec will be spent at home, doing nothing.. Grad Nite - The Vicious Cycle Ah.. Let me start with Grad Nite ’04.. Well.. overall, the whole thing very well done, but then dunno why there’s juz no sad atmosphere leh.. then this year a lot of teachers turned up too.. I was on duty for the registration table, then beginning I took 4/3 ( so qiao, I was thinking that I wan this class ) and then at the end when we gave out the testimony, I took 4/4 ( cause someone changed with me ).. ppl appeared very grand.. the programme I can’t say much cause I not in the hall most of the time.. doing their testimony thing.. But when I was there, I suddenly had to help up on stage.. very scary.. lolx.. The cycle goes one round again.. we say goodbye to our s4 and hi to the s1.. I feel that this year has been extremely fast.. it seems like yest that the last grad nite was held.. well, s3 will always be closer to their batch s4, so it seems extremely sad that they’re leaving us liao.. and next year, it’s our turn.. and then the s1 will come in.. and then the s2 will leave.. and that’s the end of the legend.. the ppl on top of us has graduated and we have, and the one below us will soon.. then the next cycle begins.. with the current s1 and so on.. Juz a little update.. Holiday’s boring.. -_-“ doing same old thing everyday.. watch tv, play games, do homework, listen to music.. luckily got the TP thing lor.. come to think of it.. it’s quite interesting.. now we’re in the analysis stage.. ^_^ well.. maths, more my type.. complicated formulas ( but no need to learn ).. Maybe it’s time to appreciate having MRT without the D.. going to end soon liao attachment.. kinda sad.. this is one of my best holidays ever.. the time is not spent doing the same old thing till I got tired of it, but instead doing something meaningful.. anyway, homework’s quite little, so having a little bit of this kind of thing helps me to do away with my time, so no sweat! School's weird.. Today wen bac to sch to buy books, and e sch’s weird. 1) Very quiet. No one playing bball or wad. 2) No teachers. Usually there will be teachers walking around or eating. 3) Office empty. It is open, but no one inside. 4) No uniform group no CCA. Weird, weekends or during hols always got CCA whether it’s the “O” lvl on or not, furthermore today no “O”s. 5) Silent. Our sch is always noisy. It is this noisy atmosphere that I feel comfortable in, but today, like a dead city. 6) Canteen is closed esp burger stall. This is the stall that’s always open, no matter what, hol or wad. And it’s closed.. Furthermore, this year, our sch seems to be malfunctioning. Here are the evidence that I can think of offhand. 1) Slow in teaching. We’re far far behind other schools. And even not comparing with other sch ( they are not those genius sch mind you ), we’re behind our syllabus. This yr sec 4 last year got SARS holiday, and yet they could finish their syllabus. And like a miracle, our bio and chem. Din finish today’s syllabus. Other subject I can’t say, cause the teacher nv comment if finish or not ( but I can bet it’s haven finish lor. We’re not even halfway thru the book, and plus next year got so many things to do, so if finish this year’s things, muz be more than half the tb liao.. ) 2) Too relaxed atmosphere. Teachers are not calling us back for extra lessons. Only for chem. But that’s to do prac only. Maths no hol homework. Bio is like a holiday though there’s reasonable amount of homework. Physic, well, I’ll be surprised if we’re ever called back for lessons. Language, no need say, no need extra lesson one. History, I wonder if our teacher still rmbs us.. SS, quite shocked we no need come back for lessons, cause our teacher is very concerned about how we are doing, and our final year was a mess. No one got A1 and quite a handful failed. Worse than mid year I think. And she did call us back during mid-year (unless wad she said about giving up teaching us is for real?? ) 3) No homework. Well.. got lar, but only Chinese. The standard homework every year.. el got a worksheet. Maths no hm!! How can? The way to make sure we learn maths is thru practice. Chem. Well, read thru tb, but no hands-on homework.. sigh.. bio, got bird project and homo ws, but is that enuff? Physic. No homework, but I believe we need the homework. Humanities, maybe we need something practical ( and not wad culture project ) to summarise what we have learnt the whole year. SS, well, it’s not a continuous subject, and there isn’t much we can do anyway.. 4) Home Room System. I think our sch’s too obsessed with the home room system. I think the bulk of their time is now spent figuring out what are some of the probs we will face when having this system and preparing stuffs. So no time for student. Actually I dun approve of it. It benefits no one. Not the students, not the teachers, not the school at the very least. a. Students need to move about. Noise level high. Lesson held back ( cause student sure walk slower than teachers one ). Chaotic ( upper/lower sec go to one place – the hall for assembly already so chaotic, what’s more the WHOLE sch moving ALL OVER the place? ) b. Teachers do not have their free time. As in, they muz be always on the ready in the classroom and stare at the same old space again and again. Actually, what’s so good about a teacher is that they can take a break in b/w lesson, go to staffroom, walk from class to class and have a change of environment and not be coped up in a room as though they are the student and waiting for the “teachers to walk in”. c. Time wastage. As mentioned d. I only agree with the homework time. Get everything done and over in sch. Get help from teachers when faced with difficulty. Go home and relax. ( CCA time also cut down by 1 hr.. =P ) Anyway, I spent from 2 to now wrapping books and preparing for next year. As in writing in names and so on.. lolx.. and now I’m left with nothing to do.. (except for the leftover homework, but dun worry, can finish one lar.. got more than a month.. ) how I wish there were chem. And maths homework. These are the hm I’ll be more than willing to do one. Gelana Long time no blog. Busy + I 4got that I have a blog.. -_-“ well.. tp quite relaxing now, after we did transplanting, everyday is mainly go do data collection, measure EC, temp and change the nutrient solution. After that, we’re free to go lib to do research.. so everyday the same old thing.. but I dun get how to use the TP website, doesn’t seem to give me any useful info anyway.. Yest was actually one of the worst days.. cause the poly student did the spraying of chemicals on the orchids in the morning, then in the afternoon, we helped to tie up the plant so that they will grow straight and we were “fully armoured” gloves, mask ( I can’t breathe!! ) and the doctor coat ( wad’s that called? ) and the plant kept “slapping” my face.. after that, we got very frantic and paranoid.. keep thinking our whole body very itchy, scratch here and there and kept washing our hands.. lolx.. that was one scary experience.. 9th Nov was a memorable day for me.. my bdae mar.. this year was a very unforgettable one.. many people wished me happy birthday.. perhaps the first time in my life that so many people rmb-ed my bdae.. =”( and =D..i wish to thank all those who made this day a special one.. Arigato ( is this how I spell it ?_? ) Deepavali today, so wish all those out there, happy deepavali.. Sat going back to sch to buy books. I wonder what will happen.. will our sch have changed by then? Re-painted? Home Room system? What is going to become of our sch?? Better? Worse? And our school is SO SLOW! Other school a maths teach until chapter 13 liao, chem. Until that water, hydrogen, contact process liao, and we haven even finish this year’s metal!! I bet their physic all done and over liao.. and they’re still having hol lesson EVERYDAY for dunno how long.. 2 weeks? And we dun even have proper homeworks!! Hmmm.. while everyone is feeling relaxed over this, I get even more stressed.. haha.. and when everyone shows the correct amt of stress, I will then relax.. cause the dun care attitude is worrying me.. Yet another day.. Well.. today wen TP again.. This time Dr Leow came to take photo.. very funny.. then he treated us to drinks too.. i ordered the blueberry soda.. and they were deciding which canteen to go to.. many tot that the engineering canteen was the worst. Today nothing much.. Juz wen to take the EC value of plant and did some re-transplanting as well as transplanitng of cucumber.. TP? TP was scary.. the doing of things in the greenhouse was ok.. hydroponics.. clean here wash there germinate this and that.. but not the research and the report lor. So difficult to do research. And then the report can’t seem to do it right.. haha.. prefer it if we juz had to do things like what we’re supp to do and not these side things.. ah.. and are we allowed to share the info? School and chalets Ah.. TP.. no time to blog lar last few days.. actually today even less time to blog cause got class chalet.. came back only now.. but nvm, tomolo no school so can sleep late tonight.. Well.. the class chalet wasn’t really like a class chalet lor.. more like some ppl from the class go there to eat and play.. haha.. not like there’s a mass event whereby everyone play and everyone linger with everyone else.. lol.. Food was nice, then Flo’s parents very nice too.. we got lost.. dunnno how to get there.. haha.. in the end Flo got to walk all the way and receive us.. Prac today.. Titration.. Came back feeling very blur.. a lot of steps., I confuse myself liao.. when doing that time, is anyhow based on my own judgement do one.. The doing itself is ok.. it’s the preparing part I’m very confused.. wad to use wad to wash and how to wash is so confusing.. Esp pipette.. and I had the wrong pipette filler some more.. nvm.. haha.. I think this practical qn is sure die one.. can only gain marks in the calculation area.. I think QA is the one more for me.. ^-^ not VA.. Wen to sch like a mad person.. cause TP research on 5 factors on germination cannot find any info.. Then brought my bio tb to school, but when reading it, it’s like no use at all.. haha.. Burette Wash with Tap water, distilled water and solution X When washing with tap water, distilled water, juz pour the water into the burette. Then move the water up and down, and then open the tap, drain away some water, then turn the other way and pour the xcess water out. When washing with solution X, using a filter funnel to facilitate pouring of the Soln..then move here move there.. tap it away and blahz.. Pipette: Wash with tap water, distilled water, and solution Y For all, suck up water using the pipette filler. Deflate it first, then press on a button then everything will be sucked up.. *here’s the blur part Is it release using the button? Or is it put it horizontal, then move right move left, then pour the liquid out? When using.. Burette: Fill it with solution X to the 0.0cm3 mark. If not there, then tap out the rest back into the container.. Using the tap, control the amt of water tapped out.. Pipette: Fill it with solution Y to the mark.. if exceed, then release the rest back into the container.. Deliver immediately into the conical flask ( wash with distilled and tap ) Conical flask: Add screened methyl orange Red that looks like pink à Orange grey à green with slight yellow.. I juz dun like practical.. and we’re gonna be tested on our skills at A lvls.. haha.. ok.. I know.. JC choose 2 maths sub liao.. not 3 science and 1 maths.. |
