Adriano back in the scene Oh right! How can i ever forget to blog this important event down?? Adriano from TMS got back into Campus Superstar!!!! Alright! He's the best man! Go Go TMS go! Because we care, so we can achieve.. Lolx.. Wishing him all the best for the rest of the competition. If not the final superstar, at least the male champion.. I'm confident of his abilities! Way to go man! Bring glory to TMS!! @ 6:16 PM
OGL camp Yesterday was the OGL camp. Well, went late cause i had LEO home visit earlier on. Hmm. Home visit was fine. But as it was my first time, I had some mental barriers to overcome. Eg. How to start a conversation. What i should do. What are they doing. Etc. Overall, i'd say it's a good first-hand experience for me. At the same time, the home visit left me with a chilling though.. What would happen to me perhaps 50 yrs' down the road? Anyway, joined the camp just in time to play the wet games. Rather fun. Quite creative and different from O1. Haha. And i became the mummified vampire. Lolx. Sounds like a zombie rite? Oh wells. I was literally mummified in one game. And later on, looked like a vampire in another game. Lolx. Quite cool though, that vampire image. How i wished i had taken a picture for memorial sake. Haha. At that moment, i think i'd really look like Kuang Tian You in his supervampire form, if others were to see me from afar, and ya, if you had seen him in MDWAV. ^_^ Had a crazy time cheering! Wipee! One prob i faced though was that i can't rmb faces and names, much less match faces to names. So every few minute, i'd go like, what's your name again? Haha. The worst part was that when we were going home, some waved to me, and i had completely no recollection of who they were, till they clarified. Haha. So paiseh.. Anyway, things for O2 are more or less settled. Admin, details etc. And now it's time for the mass dance part and the nitty gritty parts le. Been practising retarded last night. Improving le. Though some steps unsure. gotta ask others tomolo. So one song down. Around 3 more songs that i gotta start from scratch. And 2 songs that require recaps. @ 6:04 PM
Theory of afterlife (2) Just to add on to my previous theory.. Recaps... We're all existing in a form of energy, waiting to travel from one dimension to another.. I saw a question recently that left me pondering.. Hold a mirror in front of you and you see your own reflections. That's because light travels to the mirror and gets reflected into your eyes. But what if you were travelling at the speed of light? You would travel alongside with light and thus you will literally disappear from sight. Which sets me off thinking..As stated previously, after one's death in this dimension, the energy is concentrated, and this perhaps, would be enough to accelerated the body in order to reach light speed. In another words, within this current dimension, there's another dimension occuring simultaneously too. However, we do not see this other dimension because it's moving at the speed of light relative to us. Perhaps we're moving at the speed of light relative to the previous dimensions too. So as you move at the speed of light. The things that you will see relative to the new you would be different from what we see in relative to the new world. The light relative to the new you would differ from the light relative to the old you. In another words, the new light relative to the new you would be out of view in relative to the old you and current us. What if light isn't what it seems to be? What if the so called light we see now are actually people and sceneries from another dimension, just that they're moving at the speed of light relative to us, but at the same relative speed as us when viewed relatively to themselves? Which brings us to another Einstein's theory. Quantum physics. If i'm not wrong, this is the theory that brought much debate as to whether light exists as electromagnetic waves, or as particles. If my previous theory is correct, then it'd solve the problem of the form of existence of light too.. Light as view relative to us, is simply light. Viewed from the dimension that belongs to the light we see, in that particular dimension, there's light relative to them, as well as themselves. Thus, they themselves are the particles, and light relative to them is the electromagnetic waves. And this goes on with each increasing level of light dimensions. This sounds pretty logical to me. But, though the theoretical representation of my theory seems fine, in practical sense, it's equivalent to impossible to find out the truth to this theory. Lolx. @ 5:47 PM
Science VS Arts It's a sad phenomenon that modern society has such clear distinctions between various sectors of our life, dividing the fundamental principles that have been in existence since the beginning of time and space. Looking at arts and science. These two areas of concern were once merged together as one, or rather, have always been closely intermingled with one another. Science itself was not part of a matter-of-fact reality, but instead, viewed as a piece of art meant to soothe one's soul by its sheer beauty. Going back to the Greece era. There were many famous philosophers who happened to assume the role of "scientists" too. They seek answers to the question of the universe in a rather philosophical way, giving much life to what had been discovered. However, as we progress, science and arts began to split slowly into two completely separate topics altogether. Today, science has its own tone and way of presenting its theories, while arts has another set of mode of presentation altogether. One factual, one philosophical. Strictly speaking, it seems that it was science that has deviated much from its original mode of existence. Should science be the way it should be? Or has it been converted to an escape route for humans to achieve an answer to the unexplainable? Saturday, February 18, 2006 @ 7:25 PM
Bye Lay Ling! Haiz. Another of our CG-mates gone. Quit school to pursue her future in a poly. Sometimes, i wonder how they can come up with such absolute decisions and just say, alright, i'm gonna do just that. Anyways, we have spent some time together as a CG. Had equal shares of fun. Will rmb those ghost stories she told during CL lessons. Now our 5-some will be down to 4-some.. Which brings me back to that line again.. Of how ppl shared good times together, hardship etc. Of how they dun wish to forget all that they've been thru. Of how they won't wan things to end till the very last second.. But reality drags us back to the linear time frame once again.. In life, there's really only 2 choices. Together or separate. you have the money or you don't. You have the TV or you don't. You stay as friends forever, or you leave for your own future pursuit. That's that. isn't that such a sad world. Cause at the end of the day, it's surely the separations taht overwhelms all other things. Because even an eternity life will still end when the universe ends. Otherise, it just marks another separation from those who perish when that day arrives. That day when those with eternal life will live on with the never-ending emptiness, floating in space or rather nothing, when everything jsut ends. Except for them... @ 7:09 PM
Decision making process. As the end of the term draws near, I find myself faced with another difficult situation once again. Decisions have to be made, choices have to be clear and I dun wish to have any regrets at all. Putting into practice wad i have learnt in econs, there's an opportunity cost incurred for every choice you make. And the opportunity cost i refer to here is not in the economical sense, but instead, an abstract sense.. Should i give up triple science, what if i realise later on in the year that my true interest lies in the science sub that I had given up. If i remain in the class, what if i find the contents so overwhelming that i just snap and break apart? Decisions have to be made. I'm at the crossroad once again. I think i'm gonna have phobias of making decisions soon manz. Esp at this point of time, whereby the decision will have a direct and immense impact on my future, defining the direction i will move on in the future. I guess it's a good thing that there's gonna be only one single intake in year 2009. but the qn is once again, wad if your only one chance to make decision results in a wrong decision but you dun have the freedom to change it as freely as we do now.. Biology and Physics. Where does my interest truly lies? Where? Alright, i know that i like those chim physics topic, but they're only taught at uni level. Biology, i like molecular biology and it seems that the bulk of the syllabus is on this topic. In terms of coping, am i more suited for non-memorizing but more of understanding and application kinda physics-style question? Or am i more slated for essay writing biology questions? And the weird thing is that. When i'm doing bio, my calculations is in a mess, but my strength lies in my essays. When i'm doing physics, my calculations is my strength, and essays might give me headaches at times. So my inclination towards a subject is really relative to that particular subject itself, and not in terms of my general ability. My most balanced subject thus far is chemistry. Either essay or calculations will do fine for me. When faced with difficult questions that can get me stuck for a few days, i won't really fret. Instead i really find thrills and joy in the search for the answer. It's really a subject i enjoy doing. It doesn't matter how long i take to get the answer, or how hard it might get, at the end of the day, if i'm able to find the solution, the excitment and ecstacy really just outweighs all other emotions.. Which science subjects should i take together with chemistry? Which will assist me more in the study of chemistry? Where does my interest truly lies in? It took me so long to come up with this conclusion that I'm unable to come up with any conclusion at all.. Haiz. Continue with triple science? Is that a good choice? But the teachers sound so fearful of our combi. it's not the students. it's the teachers. Those that have taught for dunno how many years, been thru the system, seen students struggling or coping well year in year out. Those that would be in the best position to judge what our sub combi means... I'm lost. @ 7:00 PM
Road Run 2006 Today was the road run day. Wahaha. Ran as fun runner, because i dunno how to sign up as a competitor. Weather was pleasant. It isn't scorching as compared to that intense felt during the sports meet we once used to have. Haha. But so cute. In the past, we were advised not to open the umbrella. Over here, the college provides us with the umbrella to open and shelter from the sun. Haha. I came in around 99th. Hee. How did i know? ( fun runner no timing, no positioning de ) i caught up with one of my CG-mate who was running too. So we sort of ran alongside until.. I made my final dash towards the finishing line. She was issued the number 99, so i guess i'm around that number too. ^_^ Hmm. Though it's so far away from my 16th in TMS, but this time, we're running with the JC 2 students as well as some real fast runners. So i'm quite satisfied. At least I'm within the top 200. Haha. If i estimate mine to be around 100, then i belong to about 1/10 of the cohort. 10% of the people who made it back. Not bad la. Haha. The cheering part was great, though the numbers was not as magnificant as it was during the TMS days. The fun part was that some of us went to the front to cheer and i tagged along since it's the duty of OGLs to do so ( though i still find that there's some error with the selection process.. ) Haha. Real great experience man! GOtta compensate for being not able to cheer due to lost of voice in O week 1. And yes! Alpha came in first for the girls and the boys competition. Yay! And we were commenting why there wasn't an overall champion kinda thing. haha. I still prefer the name zenith to alpha though.. It sounds more unique and special. I dunno.. haha.. @ 6:56 PM
OGL Guess what? i got into OGL. Lolx. It still seems like a joke to me. I withdrew from the interview at the very minute. And.. I got in. Lolx. Oh wells. I guess it's gonna be some great fun manz! My greatest worry is how i'm supp to master the complicated mass dances within like 2 weeks? Haha.. I still think there must have been some confusion somewhere somehow. Maybe they're gonna issue a third OGL list, after clarifying all the doubts.. @ 6:34 PM
Adriano, the campus superstar. Oh ya. I suddenly remembered one thing I wanted to blog previously. Haha. Haiz. Adriano is out from the Campus Superstar le. =X But not yet completely. i repeat, not yet. There's stil the revival round, where he has 1/6 of a chance to re-enter the competition.. Competition seems tough, since one of the best vocalist there, YinWei is also participating in this round of revival. Anyway, thus far, I'm sure he's already the champion in the hearts of most Temasekians. He has brought glory and pride to the school, being daring enough to step out of his world and challenge the obstacles in the way of his dreams.. Haiz. Hopefully he can make it in in the end. I dunno how popular YinWei is, but I'm sure that Temasekians will try their very best to vote him back into the game. Go Go Temasek Go! Good luck Adriano! Thursday, February 16, 2006 @ 8:56 PM
So exciting! Wow! So many things happened this week that they completely packed my brain man. Lolx. GUess i won't be able to recall the bulk of the events, though i have a strong feeling that I had loads of things to blog about. Oh wells.. Anyway, today's Bio lesson was great! Finally bidding goodbye to cell organelles, and saying hello to cell division! So exciting! Wahaha.. BUt anyway, all the things that i brought out with me was these: Mitosis, meiosis1, meiosisII, interphase, phophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Haha. The processes seem so interestingly exciting. Lol. I was almost dancing throughout the whole lecture, well, as in not literally. Haha.. Now i dun feel like dropping bio le. After all, we're finally moving on. And at a fast speed too! I'm someone who gets bored easily when things move too slowly.. Haha.. Which explains why i like chemistry even more and more after entering JC. Because they move at an incredible speed. Perhaps not even fit for "Human consumptions", but anway, it suits me just rite. Haha. Weird me rite? The faster they go, the more excited i get, and so the more and faster i absorb an idea.. But doesn't apply for Maths though. It really puzzles me why my interest for Maths has taken such a great turndown since sec 4. For the past 9 or at least 8 years, it had been my fav subject. And ironically, science used to be my weakest subject in primary school. Haha. Maybe there's really a limit to our capacity and ability, such that when i dedicate more interest to chemistry and the other science subject, I sort of subconsciously move away from my maths interest. Suddenly reconsidering whether to drop bio not. Haiz. The pace now is just rite for me. Just that i'd be more excited if the teacher go a bit faster. Haha. Kinda like the thrill you get while on a roller coaster. The faster it goes, the scarier it gets, but the level of ecstacy garnered in return far overlaps the fear generated. Haha.. V Day Eve Tomolo's gonna be a fun-filled day! Yay! It'd be the first mega event for guitar club since i joined it in Jan. It's gonna be exciting man! Song dedications!! Yay! Prepared many gifts for many ppl. Burnt the whole of Sat, Sun and today. And guess wad? i din buy enuff wrapping papers. So some gotta go without the wrappers. Sigh.. I wonder how i'm gonna bring the gifts to sch tomolo.. And.. I gave each gift an identity, a wrong move.. This means that when i distribute the gifts tomolo, i must check each and single one of them to search for the gift with the right name. Duh! It seems so ironical that extremities will end up in the opposing extremities most of the times. The origin of everything is yet the shallowest of all when compared to the expanded ideologies. It seems weird how our pattern of life is even defined by a science concept, Newton's third Law.. Sunday, February 12, 2006 @ 10:22 PM
I made my choice! Woa! Finished my online registrations le! I still continued with my unusual practice of putting VJ after TJ. Lolx. 1st choice: TJ Sci 2nd choice: VJ Sci 3rd choice: MJ Sci I'm still thinking if i should drop one sub or continue with triple sci. But it really makes no sense to continue with triple sci. At the end of the year, I wanna pursue H3 subs. And most prob two H3 Sci sub. Which means i gotta completely drop one sub. So if i dun drop now, i will have to waste one whole year of formal education on that subject.. What's more, I want to do pyschology electives, which requires time too, since it's university-style. I doubt I can find any time off this packed time table i have now.. I thikn it's highly likely that the sub i wanna drop would be biology. After all, I'm getting a bit tired of it now le.. Physics is more dynamic. JC physics is fun and challenging, the type that i want. No longer mechanical like Sec sch, but more thinking questions taht can really crack your brain. That's the fun part man.. And the satisfying moment when you are able to solve the seemingly unsolvable problems.. Same for chem too.. But for bio, i can't seem to really derive that sense of joy from answering the questions. It's more of understanding whta the question is trying to ask, and then lifting the answers from your lecture notes. Too mechanical for me.. It doesn't really challenge the brain and force it to generate an unique solution derived from understanding of the lecture notes. Physics. Oh wells. The fun part of the physics are all in H3. Which means i will be forced to take physics H3 if i wanna pursue my relativity studies. But that's only 1/5 of the syllabus. The rest are all quantum.. Oh no, the theory that i was unable to understand. Haha. H3 chemistry is on my mind too, though i'm more inclined towards the NUS-offered H3. Some more H3 chemistry is an open book exam de. Lolx. Oh wells. I realised that I was too afraid to step out during the past few weeks. Daren't apply for Sci Co, scholarship, science research programme etc. Now, things are going to change. If i drop a sub, i'd have more time for other commitments, which means that I will be more bold and try out things that I thikn i can manage.. From this moment.. The new parallel universe that lies in my belief would be formed ( with or without the split due to time travel, obviously without.. ) and the future would be mine to mould. 5 weeks without MDWAV.. sigh.. Still, it will live on forever in my mind.. the spirit behind it all! It will keep me going always! Those inspiring lines will keep my fire of passion fiercely ablazed at all times! High spirit will come with firm beliefs! "Believe and it can be, don't believe and it can't be!" Friday, February 10, 2006 @ 11:31 PM
Don't look down on us.. "You got 266 for your T-score, so why don't you go RGS? Why did you come to Temasek?" Pls.. Why do you look down on Temasek? The reason is simple, I enjoy being a Temasekian, I want to be a Temasekian. If possible, I just like to stay on being a Temasekian. What's wrong with this? Look at things from another perspective. Why should I go to RGS instead? I strongly believe that it is not the school that makes a student great. It is the student that makes the school great! As long as you are comfortable with that environment, why care about the ranking and stuffs? They are so superficial and to put things across crudely, it completely makes no sense! You can enter a good school, get the best education there. At the end of the day, it's not suitable for you, you come out with rotten results, wad's the use? You enter an average school taht you like, get the education that you enjoy. At the end of the day, you feel like you're at home and you come out with fantastic results. Isn't that what education should be about? So what's your prob? Why do you look down on us? So what if we're not the top school in terms of academic studies? Academic does not and will not constitute 100% of our life. It is not everything at all. We must look deeper and wider. An holistic education is what TMS strives to achieve. A healthy balance b/w leadership, studies and CCA. An opportunity for everyone. A chance to develop their talents. Of course, top schools are doing this so. So my point is, since we're doing the same thing, so why should i blindly follow the norm and go to those "good" schools? We are what we want ourselves to be. i want to be a temasekian, so quit bugging me about RGS.. And you! Do you think you have the rights to discriminate all of us like this? Just based on this arrogant attitude of yours is sufficient to ignore your existence as a whole ok? If you think you have the capacity to do everything, then do it. I'm not gonna stop you. Just don't affect me with your discriminating speeches ok? My policy is that to blindly follow the norm is a sad thing. We should break out of the vicious cycle and live a life that we want. Not one that is determined by how the society flows. But that is on one condition, be it freedom of speech or wadsoever. That is, everything should be done such that no party will be hurt under all circumstances.. So PLS! Go and take your hundreds over units worth of subject. Go to your library. Read up on everything. It's your freedom. If that's the life you enjoy, do it. But DON'T ever come up with inconsiderate remarks that can really draw a deep wound in us! If you're smart, so be it. There's no need for you to look down on every other things. We have our own goals in life. We live it the way we want it to be. No one will ever approach a same route in wadever we do. What suits you will not suit me.. So mind your own business and stop attacking us in a hostile manner.. If you're just joking, I'm afraid, you have no sense of humour at all.. It's not funny.. @ 9:00 PM
My O-level Results Today was the release of O-levels results.. In a way, it is a joyous events yet a sad one.. The happy thing is that our efforts for the past 10 yrs has finally bore fruits. The sad thing is that our last link with TMS has ended and we're officially ex-Temasekians, soon to be forgotten by the teachers and students and the school.. Yest and today's morning was filled with suspense. Perhaps for most, it will be a dreaded period not to be forgotten for a long time to come.. For me, I had 2 diarrhea, once at home and once in school. Wanted to join TMS for cross country, but dropped the idea later on and went along with my friends to just hang out somewhere.. But throughout at least the first 1 hr, i was very much lost in my own thoughts. Trying to weigh out all the possibilities, trying to reason things out. But yet at the same time, not knowing wad i'm thinking of.. "When humans are too awake, they cannot get dynamic.." Perhaps that's the spirit this verse is trying to bring across to us.. Being too analytical and realistic can be rather annoying at times.. Reached school. Hang ard. Went up that staircase. Arrived in the hall. Teachers came in. Mrs Ong came in.. The "commencement" of the release of O-level results. Actually it's quite ironical that we actually have to depend on that very one moment to show the results of our 10 yrs hard work.. Generally our school improved from previous year. Yay! TMS will always remain the best. And so, it will not move backwards, only forward. ^_^ Heard that the national level of 5 O-level passes dropped by 2%, so i guess our school's improvements do indicate a good sign? I was completely shocked by my results, though fortunately in a pleasing way. 9 A1s. This is a result that i dun thikn i have ever achieved for my major exams, at least for sec 3 and 4. It was just out of my expectations. I tot i screwed up my el, ss and physics prac. TOgether with bio prac, but anyway everyone screwed up this prac paper.. But it all turned out to be a pleasant surprise after all! A1 for English.. Something that's simply out of my imagination.. I'm so happy with my results! I just gotta thank all my teachers man.. They're the supporting structure behind my success. They were the one playing the major role in shaping me to who i am now. They were the ones providing me with the moral support and the final surge of confidence I needed. Some were always there when i needed them. I thank the school too.. For providing us with such a condusive environment suited to maximize everyone's potential.. TMS rawks! And rawk on 4eva man! A perfect fullstop to my secondary school life.. Though relunctant to part and break all official ties with the school, life still goes on.. In life, there's only 2 things that can happen. you either get together or you separate. More often than not, it's the separation that occurs.. Moving on to the next phase of my life, bringing with me the valuable and enjoyable moments I spent in TMS... I promise to return one day, with glory.. Wait for me, TMS.. *gotta thank MDWAV for providing me with a new perspective to life as well as the perseverence strength of how we should control our own fate. As well as the soundtracks that have accompanied me for 3 months thus far as well as that few hours pending to the announcement of the results.. Thursday, February 09, 2006 @ 11:59 PM
Mrs Than, i salute you.. Today our teachers were all very understanding and slowed down their pace of teaching.. For Bio, we even watched movie. but there was this one period of the day that truely set me thinking as well as changed my whole perspective and view of one particular teacher.. She's our econs teacher.. I had used to lump her together with Mrs Maestern in the past.. They look alike, got the same tone, act alike, teach alike, like to talk about non-relevant stuffs. At least those that ain't directly relavent anyway.. But today, after a "dialogue" session with her.. I have gained new insights about life, my goals, how i should make my decisions as well as my opinion of her as a whole.. Initially, i tot she was those kind of Mrs Maestern kinda teacher ( Those kinda feeling, dunno how to express in words.. ) But today, i finally know why.. And i'm really touched by those words which inspired me alot.. "Happy. What matters most when you do something is that you're happy. At the end of the day, you can achieve a lot of things. But they mean nothing withouth happiness.." "Teaching was the only job option i put down. i have been teaching for alot of years. Till now, i stil enjoy teaching.. And i'm happy.." "I dun thikn it matters to me how long educations take. Ten years? So be it.. 20 yrs? So be it.. Why should we rush through it? To come out to work? What matters most is that you enjoy the process.." Those words are just so true.. but like what one of our CG-mate expressed, society has changed. And to add on, i feel that happiness is no longer something that occur naturlly anymore.. It's actually sort of a privilege for those who happen to experience them.. Something so simple.. Yet so diff to attain.. How has society progressed? Transformed to a better place? But at the expense of the fundamental principal of living -- for happiness.. How many enjoy studying everything? To live a life that has already been planned? 10 yrs education = O level. 12 yrs = A level? How many enjoy working? But because such things are what everyone is doing, adn thus everyone have to do them.. That's the new phenomenon in society.. It's just like a fashion.. Just because everyone is doing it, it is a norm and so it is fixed that you should and you must do it.. I feel guilty.. I actually fall into this sad category when judging this teacher.. I expect quality teaching from her, as well as fun in the class.. We all have a fixed idea of an ideal teacher in our mind, how they should act etc. But actually.. our expectations fall shortly into what society actually wants.. If we explore further.. If a teacher doesn't teach, we comment. If a teacher jokes alot, far too mych, we comment. If a teacher is too strict, we comment. if a teacher can't teach, we comment.. Actually i should be grateful and gladful that i got this teacher. She teaches for a passion. She teaches because she want to, she's happy to do so.. It is only in this kinda environment will our interest for a sub grow, and thereafter our passion.. I should admire her way of doing things.. Not to impart the knowledge of the subject, but rather the spirit of that subject.. I learn best in those environment.. but still, i was blinded by the reality of society and had failed to notice this invaluable quality in her.. After her talk, i will be blinded no more.. I will still be led blindly by society. But my way of looking at things will no longer be what society wants. I wil just follow my heart and feel the way that i know i will derive fullest happiness from.. @ 11:33 PM
O-level results eve Oh no.. the atmosphere now is just so tense. On msn, you see ppl's anxious nicks. Everywhere you feel a different aura.. Perhaps all of us won't know wad would happen to us the next second.. The next minute.. The next hour.. the next day.. but it'd come.. Before we know it. Cause time and tide waits for no man.. Maybe we should think of things from another angle. It's gonna happen soon, but not yet. Fretting over what's fixed will not alter the unchangeable. The situation has already been finalised, we just gotta be ready to receive our fate, wherever the future may lie for us. Rmbering those lines, "Even if the next moment is the end of the world, as long as that second has not arrived, it is not the fact.." Moreover, tomolo is not the end of the world, as many of the lecturers and tutors have stated clearly.. It's just an annual ritual that 16-17 yr old students go thru, to put it across crudely.. Think of it another way.. our 10 years of education might be to prepare us for this moment of truth, but it's not everything. Think of all the times we spent with our classmates, schoolmates, with the school itself. All those precious moments might turn out to be much more joyous than this upcoming piece of paper itself.. Rmbering those lines, "Even though our time spent together might be short, but at least we have shared laughter, sadness, tears, separations and joy together. Even in times of crisis, we have not given up on each other.." I'm sure all of us had our own share of precious moments. i did, at least.. And till now, i still cannot forget all that has happened in the past 4 years over at TMS.. I was happiest then.. "I cannot find any reason why i shouldn't forget.. Or rather, why i should rmb for eternity.." But i feel that more often than not, it is actually those things that you do without knowing the reason why you do them that are actually those things that you can derive full, true happiness from.. Though philosophical as I might sound, i must admit, i myself am tensed up. Lol. Just trying to reason things out a bit in order to calm myself down and get down to life.. "The crowded towns, why hadt thou became so quiet and silent? Thoult laughter in the alleys, where hadt those gone?" Tomolo.. The school.. Will be silent.. Tensed.. Because the school won't be there. They'll be at the cross country.. I really feel like joining them.. Tomolo.. Wat does it mean?? Tomolo.. A normal day to majority.. A big day for sec 4 of 2005.. Tomolo.. What does it behold for all of us? Good luck ppl.. Good luck to me.. Good luck to 4S-ians.. Good luck to TMS-ians.. GOod luck to singaporeans.. Good luck to earthlings.. Good luck... A great day man! Yay! Today is such a wonderful day! Several joyous moments man. I hope this great start means an auspicious week ahead of me! ^_^ Firstly, yay! I can float! I can float! Can you imagine that? I can float! Ok, i know it's nothing really that great. But imagine me to be a small little child in beginner's class. Rather exciting rite? the idea that you can finally float! Another thing i realised is that i can stay underwater for a long time, at least to me.. Next, got back bio assignment, assesment or as what the teacher says,"Exercise". It was a 20mark one qn essay. I passed!!!! Yay!!! The teacher says, "Don't be shocked if you failed, it's a bonus if you pass." And wow! I actually got the bonus.. I was so excited when i recieved the script, that i wanted to burst out laughing. But anyway, i thikn it's just that lucky star was shining on me.. Plus, if i were to drop a sub, this is the sub at "highest risk". Lolx. Another thing is that.. I realised.. 2nd law of thermodynamics is really related to time paradox! Wipee! Oh yes! But it's at uni lvl.. But once i'm able to understand the concept, i'll be able to understand wad those chim ppl in the MDWAV forum are talking about! Yes! And i've verified that that show is really built on the foundations of chim scientific stuffs.. Maybe not really la. But die-hard fans like me chimified a show that supp to be just well, a show.. lol.. Which makes the show a lot more chim-er. but nvm, more depth ma.. lol.. This shows that us fans are deep-thinkers! Wahaha.. One up and down event was that.. i tricked my frenz into going to VCD shop.. And i tried searching for MDWAV vcds.. they were there.. just that series 2 wasn't there! My heart literally sank at that moment lorx.. I was like oh no!!!! the best series.. is gone!!! And fortunately, i was analysing the positions of the VCDs as well as their VCDs covers.. and their height and relative thickness.. when i realised.. you just gotta remove one VCD box from one of the stacks.. then vola! THe MDWAV 2 all exposed! Yay! Monday, February 06, 2006 @ 11:13 PM
Goodbye Cheryl.. Today is the last day of school for one of our CG-mates.. Though we've merely spent 5 weeks or so together, many of us still felt yi1 yi1 bu4 she3.. I see the invisible bond threading all of us together then.. For me personally, i think it's actually the first time i see a friend going overseas, and maybe even there to stay for good. Suddenly you know that you'll never see her anymore, because chances are, when she comes back, she won't know where we are le.. Though we ain't really that close, but separation isn't really a good feeling at all. As another CG-mate of mine expressed, "I feel as though a part of me is missing..".. I wonder what i would be feeling then, if a close friend of mine had to leave for a faraway place and the moment to part would arrive.. Actually, she's a really nice girl. Still rmb those days when she helped me order food ( cuz lost voice ).. A girl with goals and aspirations. She knew which direction to head in life, and go right straight in that directions, undeterred by any external obstables and had unwavered determinations.. Since sec sch life, she had worked towards this dream.. Of furthering her studies overseas as well as developing a career there too.. In aust and canada respectively. Such outflow of talents from Sg is really saddening to me. It seems that some of the youths who have clear goals in minds are those that feel that there's no future for them in staying here, thus taking the flight. Those that remains are either those who are satisfied with a local education or otherwise, lost. The lost youths in Sg do not know what their future lies for them. They dunn where to head. And thus, they remain stagnant here, and subject themselves to the planned education system here. Not that it's not bad thing, but it simply shows that they'd rather take the safe, secure and pre-arranged route for them as they simply dunno where to head next. Under the protection securtiy of the education system, they grow. In a way, they are equipped with skills that can help them compete in the global economy. But looking at things from another angle, will they all grow up being shaped the same way as one another? Saturday, February 04, 2006 @ 6:07 PM
My Theory of dimension and time The theory of time paradox: i never once believed in time travel. however, after knowing more about the theory of time paradox, this idea just keep bugging me.. In time paradox, it appears that time has got no value at all. in fact, the only shade of difference between the past, present and future lies with the different dimensions they lie in. Thus, things are occuring simultaneously, at the same time, in the same space, but within different dimensions. My theory of afterlife: in simple form, afterlife is right on Earth, in the very space that we are in. However, we don't see its presence, due to the segregation of the different dimensions. Still, for those with special powers, they are able to feel, see or sometimes even communicate with what we can't. in another words, our lives don't really end. We have just departed one dimension in order to enter another dimension. Thus, similarly, someone from the other dimension might be able to feel our presence in our current dimension too. So, afterlife doesn't really exist at all. It's just a matter of transformation from one form of space to another. An analogy would be the electrons within the orbitals of the atom. On a micro level, when the electrons are in excited state, they leave their current subshell to proceed onto a higher energy subshell, say from s to p. s sub-energy level is one dimension and p sub-energy level is yet another dimension. The electron is still an electron, it's not dead or anything yet. it simply just possess another level of energy. Take those subshells to be dimensions. The electrons would then literally hopped across dimensions. Even at an atom-level, the energy required is already relatively large. To use the same relative amount of energy on human beings would be unimaginable. Few millions atoms are required to cover a full-stop, wad more a human? However, when someone "dies", all their processes in the body cease to take place. Within everyone, there's a source of energy resides in them. When this energy is fully focussed and concentrated, an unthinkable surge of energy will be unleashed, thus propelling itself to land onto another dimension. ( as proposed as an orbital ). ( energy cannot be destroyed. After death, all the energy in the being can't cease to exist literally ) The energy reaches another dimension and enters its body in that dimension. ( Which is actually the unborn baby in the mother's stomach ). That energy provides fuel for the being to come to life. It takes time for the energy to settle in the baby and thus, protection from the mother is required. At the same time, it needs time to recuperate from dimension travel. The womb is a good place. When it's ready, delivery takes place. If accidents should occur within the conception to delivery period, the energy will be disrupted, leading to deformation or even death. That's when the energy has to seek another dimension once again. At times, we can "Feel" the other dimension. That's why the source of energy is concentrated, penetrating through the realm of dimensions. To put in across in terms we know, being in contact with the unknown will hurt your yuan2 qi4. However, if my theory is right, there'd be another explanation. If energies from the two dimensions clashes, they cancel out each other. However, the energy from the other dimension doesn't overlap our dimension completely, thus the energy source does not get completely destroyed. Another exciting idea would be that dimension crossing takes place when we dream. When we are sleeping, our body is silent and at rest. Thus, energy is rather focussed, but not completely ( otherwise we'll fly around dimensions whenever we sleep ) That little bit of energy might penetrate into other dimensions, however, it's returned to where it was initially, when our biological clock wakes us up. ( metabolic processes using up energy ) As the "energy" that's used for this dimension travel is really just energy, thus we can't really recall our dream at all most of the time. Because the brain isn't there to provide the memory. However, the feeling remains. You know something has happened, but not wad has happened. Unless the feeling is so intense, fragments of the dream might remain.. This also explains why if there's really "reincarnation", ppl dun recall past memories. However, as said, feelings remains. This accounts for the dejavu feeling we get sometimes. If the feeling is really intense, it triggers code in the brain, allowing it to sequence memories that we tot shouldn't be there, yet they're so real. Such hidden power of the brain can only be accessed if we focus hard enough adn allow the energy to be concentrated in the brain ( many cannot get into this encoding process as shown by their access to at most 4-5% of the brain power. for others, they can only access this part of the brain for a real short span of time ) An attempt in explaining phenomenon If my theory stands, then the extinction of dinosaurs can be explained. Maybe they don't exist in our dimension? Perhaps they're really just smart creatures who worked on this theory and managed to carry out time or dimension travel? However, they dunno how to return and thus perished here, for those who tried. ( This accounts for the bones remains ) Maybe they do exist in our dimensions but an unknown energy source swept across earth one day, catalysing the dimension travelling process? Who knows? The world is just such an unfathomable one.. @ 5:56 PM
The Afterlife One of my CG-mates proposed this theory: Life after death has been a much highly speculated issue. There's no concrete evidence accounting for afterlife, yet many believe that it does exist. So, he gave this theory by merging science together with the unexplainable. In his theory, after one's death, his soul will leave the barren body. The soul's density is very small, almost negligible. He floats out of earth, into space. Even the hydrogen atoms are heavier than the soul. They gradually arrive at a planet, one that we call Hell. Thus in his theory, hell doesn't occur below the surface of Earth, but instead, way up above. My own reflections: I don't quite agree with this theory, however, i must still say that it's a fascinating way of thinking. The beauty of how science can be used to explain afterlife. Anyway, if this theory really works somehow, I would thikn that hell isn't a planet that he/she floats to.. Instead, space itself is hell. Imagine yourself in an endless space of darkness, nothingness and emptiness. You know wad's going on, but yet you can't see, talk, smell, hear. That taste of lonliness is simply the worst punishment that anyone can get. This carries on forever. Till eternity, which knows no time. The endless loneliness in endless darkness for endless eternity. How does it sounds like? I was just thinking. is it worse to get canning in jail, or be jailed in an extremely dark room with all contacts cut off from the external world? I guess it's diff for diff ppl? It depends on the individual, whether they sucuumb more to physical torture or mental torture.. @ 1:16 PM
The crossroads.. Alright, it seems that I'm caught in a situation whereby i dunno if i should continue with my sub combi or should i just have a more holistic education.. At times, i feel taht i can cope with this combi. That it's really interesting.. At other times, i feel so tired.. So energy-less.. and i hope for a break.. Actually i hope to do pyschology elective in JC too. but with my curent timetable, it's impossible.. At this point in time, i feel that to have a core focus in education is more important than a diverse and intensive one. When you have a core focus, you can have time off to try out new things and find out what really interest you.. Going by my current timetable, i can forsee time for only one thing. Studies in science. But without a chance to try out other things, how can i tell that that's the ultimate final route i'm gonna take? I ain't gonna become a researcher in the future or anything like that. I'm not gonna become a doc. Is it necessary for me to take the triple science combi? if i'm really interested in that sub, but have got no use for it in the future, is it wise to take it up. Or should i just read up on it during my free time just to broaden my horizon and satisfy my thirst for that particular topic? A paper in hand simply equates to job opportunities. but if that job dun require that paper, is it really crucial to study that sub. Or will having knowledge of that sub suffice? Another question comes again.. If i decide to drop after all, should it be bio or phy? I used to think of dropping phy.. Now, it's bio.. This sub is sucking up too much of my time.. And like i said, i'm not gonna be a doc in the future. It's quite of like a redundant sub.. As for my interest in molecular biology, i have already read up on this topic in the past. So it's not a must to learn thru lessons.. Hmmm.. @ 12:45 PM
True or myth.. Our Maths teacher posted us this question: "When a person says that he wants to die, you shouldn't believe him. True or myth?" Though majority feels that it's the truth, because if he wanna die, he would have done so in action, not just by talking, I beg to differ.. Right at that moment.. When someone speaks of those words, he or she has already reached a point of desperation. In his own definition, his journey has already ended. There's no more will of survival. However, he still hopes to get that little bit of support from ppl who cares for him. Though his energy capacity and mental strength has reached a point of absolute zero, he still hopes that there'd be someone around to catch him as he collaspe into nothingness. he hopes to find the strength to survive, that is, from the ultimate power of invisble feelings. Intangible but always there. One reason why one still lingers on and doesn't jump down immediately is that he's scared of death. Such cases are relatively easy to handle. However, as opposed to the norm, there's another group of ppl who do not fear death. Instead, the reason why they are not jumping is not becuase they're scared of death, but yet for another reason. They are afraid of living, to fight against obstacles in life. But subconsciously, they still wish for a miracle to happen, for them to keep going. They dunno how and hopes for a source of strength in them. Such would be their internal struggle going on in their mind. This group of ppl are those that requires others' attention. Because they're the strong ones, undeterred by difficulties, but are just tired of struggling with life.. That's when support comes in. Lend them a hand, and everythign will be fine. However, most of the time, many brush those statements off as a joke and are unable to detect signs of giving up on life.. For this group of ppl.. The stronger they seem, the weaker they are. The happier they are, the more troubled they are. The more cheerful they seem, the more hopeless they get.. That's the paradox of it all.. @ 12:36 PM
Di Qiu Zai Hui Mei Zhi Ji Just watched the video of "Di Qiu Zai Hui Mei Zhi Ji" ( Earth on the Verge of Destruction ).. So touching.. Though almost 3 months have passed.. Rmbering those words by MXL.. "I dunno why i shouldn't forget him, or rather, why should i remembering him for an eternity. We've been through life and death, but never once did we give up on each other.. Even if the very next second was the end of the world, I would want him to be with me, even up till that very last second.." And then those flashbacks of some scenes.. Esp that part when they pulled that arrow together.. "Together, be it life or death. For tens of thousands of years, death shall not even pull us apart." Followed by that conversation.. "We have arrived at a place for us to rest. In the whole world, there's only 2 of us and no others. That is, Ma Siu Ling, together with Fong Tin Yau." Thursday, February 02, 2006 @ 10:13 PM
Tiring days.. I'm just super duper triple tired now.. To think i had 5 days' rest before starting school for 2 days.. Lessons are still mainly on basic stuffs so far.. So it's not stressful -- yet.. But it's really tiring... Imagine reaching home like 7 almost everyday, to find yourself piled up with loads and loads of homeworks? I can't complete all the homeworks so far.. I find myself procrastinating all the time, something i hate to do. Cause my princple is that wadever's that given today, must be completed today. And the question comes: If daily work can't be completed, then wad about the time set aside for revision during exam periods? And where's life?? Maybe a focus is really needed. I gotta find a goal somehow and target straight for it. Being wishy-washy can't help. in the end you know everything, but you're not an elite in anyone of them.. Time to think and reflect.. Time to really sit down and reconsider everything.. Wednesday, February 01, 2006 @ 9:15 PM
A day's update Well.. One day of school after CNY. Lolx. How everyone wished that the hols were longer. Me too.. Well, humans can never be satisfied isn't it? Esp when enjoyment is concerned. Today well. GP gotta prepare a new vocab word for class tomolo. Intended to use the word paradox.. When the teacher used it suddenly today.. Lolx. Wad a small world it is.. There's millions of words in the el dict and she just so happened to use the word i wanted to use. So gotta use a though simple word, controversy, but easily applicable in GP essays.. ^_^ Bio, tomolo gonna have presentations! Hope everything goes well.. PE! Now i thank the rigorous training TMS put us thru, esp under Mr Ng. Where push-ups and sit-ups were such a common thing. Now that we're in TJ, it's mainly just running, which I happen to enjoy. The irony was that, now that the teacher told us girls to do the girls push-up, i actually can't do it. So i was like the only girl there doing it the guys way, cause it's just more natural lorx.. After 4 yrs in TMS doing it.. haha.. Talking about running. I wasn't in best form today manz.. Just a few metres and my lungs were aching like crazy. Later on, i tot i was going down a slope, which turned out to be a stairs. So i was stepping on the side of the stairs and as expected, twisted my ankle slightly. Fortunately, i din sprain it. Just cracked it slightly, with no further complications, so i could press on with my run. Surprisingly, with my lungs conditions ( I suspect due to previous case of bronchitis ), i could continue running non-stop for a distance of 2.8km. ^_^ But my timing was disappointing. Well, nvm. The process is the most impt, as long as i pressed on to complete with the run, nothing really matters to me as mych.. PDPs getting great. Guitar i can play a line of the song! Wopee.. Ok, nothing great. But it's a big hulahu for someone liek me who has completely no music background. And guess wad? i recall where to play the ABCDEF on the guitar and read the beansprout notes! Yay! Still.. i got a feeling i will like LEO better than Guitar. After all, i joined guitar for selfish reason of playing songs, whereas for LEO, it's really to reach out to others.. Cause at TMS, we CARE! |
