Goodbye 2014 Hello 2015 Yet another year has passed. 2014 had been an eventful year for me, both good and bad, and I've gained lots of life experience from the year :) Was really fortunate enough to embark on two overseas research conferences + exchanges - one to London and another to Kyoto. It was an eye-opener seeing how labs in other regions operate. More importantly, I've learnt how to survive in a big city like London, gained a bit more common sense, and became more independent. And Japan is just stunningly beautiful - scenery, culture, people :) Hong Kong - Checked :) ; Japan (Kansai) - Checked :) ; Bonus: Glimpse of UK/Europe On the downside, our lab was effectively put out of many months of action due to the unfortunate lab fire incident in the area. There goes months of lab work which was instead spent on pilling through paperworks and negotiating with vendor and insurer to restore our lab operation. But alas, they're mostly settled and now we can welcome a "brand new" lab with more organized operation :) 2015 - things are going to get better! Wish everyone good health, stay safe and soar in our respective careers :) And of course, spend quality time with family and friends. One can never be too busy :) |
