15 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy

Pretty inspiring post: http://www.purposefairy.com/3308/15-things-you-should-give-up-in-order-to-be-happy/

15 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy
1. Give up your need to always be right.
2. Give up your need for control.
3. Give up on blame.
4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk.
5. Give up your limiting beliefs
6. Give up complaining.
7. Give up the luxury of criticism.
8. Give up your need to impress others.
9. Give up your resistance to change.
10. Give up labels.
11. Give up on your fears.
12. Give up your excuses.
13. Give up the past.
14. Give up attachment.
15. Give up living your life to other people’s expectations.

I'm guilty of everything, so it's time to give up the unnecessaries, starting from this list! =D

Heard this beautiful song over the radio. Coupled with the rain now - 绝配!

好的事情

I received this in my mail yesterday.

It's from a workshop I signed up for previously. Basically an additional service provided by the company to timely remind participants if they have met their goals set 6 months ago.

I looked at the list...
Regretfully, I didn't manage to achieve any of the goals set out. Instead, things seem to turn out the other way round. Nonetheless, it's an important reminder to me of what I hoped I could have done. Though yet to be achieved, but I will reset everything to the same starting ground again. =D

Good news come in a row! My grad studies offer have all come in! =D Shall give it serious thoughts and arrive at a decision.

Life's good. It's not the best, but what more can I ask for? I'm happy the way things are. =D 2 more weeks left as an undergraduate and I'm determined to make it the best out of it!

Lost time

What's happening to me? Why have I become so undecisive (than ever), unwilling, reluctant, draggy, clingy and procrastinative?

Maybe I really need a tight schedule to drive the efficient side of me out. Currently, I feel that I'm spending extensive hours of my life doing unproductive work which subsequently translates to this overwhelming feeling that I have endless amount of work to be done. Yet on looking back, there weren't that much of a work to do and I start to wonder, where did my lost time go to?

I recall 2 years back when I was going through the "core-rest" part of my curriculum - busy yes, difficult yes, but I was so positive about learning and all. I looked forward to doing everything that I did and was pretty proactive too. That gave me a sense of satisfaction.

But now? Still rushing deadlines one day before it comes, spending time in front of the computer almost every moment of my life but yet feeling as though I'm not doing anything - maybe because there isn't really lots to be done. I wonder if having more work might help, but then again, I'm hardly finishing my current workload as per my expectation already. I really wonder, since when did I start pushing work to near deadlines?

Wells wells, rather than looking for a cause, I think it makes more sense to be more proactive now! Chiong ah! Make the best of my last semester! Make it a busy yet fulfiling and satisfactory semester ever! Keep going! =D

Major update

Many "major" events happened over the past month and I was so caught up with work to even think of blogging. Seems like I have missed out on the feeling of the moment by delaying this entry. And suddenly, it dawned upon me that it's already Week 10 of the last semester...

First up, FYP is officially over. Poster day came and went. It wasn't all that mega exciting as I thought it'd be, or maybe I just didn't know enough people or socialised around sufficiently to make it feel lik a cohort gathering. But alas, half a year's worth of research effort culminating on this very day. All the hard work was worth it =D

Next, submitted individual report for design project on Monday! hmm.. group report coming up next, so I shan't comment too much yet.

Yup as for my grad studies - was offered one, went for interview for the other and was just offered too (though I have no idea wad scholarship accompanies it). In a dilemma of choosing between the two. Go with my interest? Basically interest level for both is the same. Go for the money? They both potentially are worth the same amount. Think of the project? Actually I feel that the more I think of what I wanna do, the narrower I limit my options to and the less viable I think this entire path is. It's just part of a training isn't it?

It all goes back to my old problem - thinking too much. Actually I just have to do it and walk down the path. No point thinking so much about anything because nothing is going to happen even if I think about everything since nothing is done. 真的是该放下包袱,放开胸怀,解放自己!Do not fear cos I have nothing to lose. Do not have excessive expectations and everything will be a learning point. I need to get rid of this sense of skeptism about everything, be more positive, feel excited about things and learn to see opportunity rather than declaring everything as a dead end. Nothing is that bad =D
