Good learning experience Phew finally it's over! A good learning experience :) Such out-of-textbook experience can actually make you learn alot within a short period of time. An enriching day! So back to reality and learning for mid-terms! Argh my one and only closed book exam this sem. Chem eng has really pampered me with open book exams. But all in all, I think open book exams make more sense actually, as long as you don't belong to that category of students who hope to learn the concept on the spot during the exam. Otherwise, it saves you lots of energy and effort in memorizing stuff or swallowing information blindly; and gives you the freedom to really think and digest your materials. :D Saturday, September 25, 2010 @ 11:50 PM
When Goodbye doesn't mean farewell forever Some of my friends are leaving/have left for their overseas studies. Some going for 2 years, others 4 years and the rest 6 months for exchange. Actually it shouldn't be such a great deal actually since everyone's going global recently. But I guess due to my lack of experience, overseas sounds like a distant and scary idea. Anyhow, today we had a farewell party for one of my jc classmates who's about to leave for london. It's amazing how we can piece our farewell gift together within just a few hours' worth of work, and I'd say it's a fairly decent-looking gift actually =D Had the 'party' at Nandos. The chicken's quite nice, so were the wedges but the sides weren't that fantastic. Usual chatting session went great and is a timely break from all the studying. On a side note, recess week is finally coming to an end and school's gonna start! =D Okay the excitement doesn't sound that normal, but I've always suspected I'm slightly crazy to start off with. I think I can't remain coped up at home for too long, just need to be out there doing something. Or at least in school learning something. Heard that a classmate is flying off on Monday, and the other one on Friday. Hmm I still find seeing off ppl at airport a weird process with mixed feelings. But I'll still get to see them again, when they're back. Well, back to the same old talk again - 我们各自在自己的领域里打拚,各自朝着自己的理想前进。没有谁会永远陪在谁身边,当欢乐的聚会解散时,最重要的是美丽的回忆仍存在着。:) 在这先说声再见,是再次见面的再见。 @ 2:53 PM
Random thoughts :) Feels good to see group mates putting in effort into projects/reports. It's quite panicky to see a lack of response for many days, which gives a sense of insecurity especially when the deadline is nearing. But it's definitely "gladdening" to see a good quality piece of work coming out of this wait. I liked the way we helped each other out along the way when we had doubts here and there. It's okay to not know certain things (nobody's all knowing anyway; we all learn from each other); it only irritates when one acts knowing. Anyway, I think I definitely need to learn to be more trusting for group work. It ain't that bad when I'm working with my friends; but I just can't shake off that initial sense of insecurity when working with people whom I dunno, even if they turn out to be good co-workers after all. Having said this, it can really get on my nerves when one churns out sub-standard last minute work. On a completely separate note, I think my "quest" to seek truths could actually be quite meaningless after all. (*I don't mean truth of life or anything philosophical. Just any simple thing in every day life.) Is it really that important to know the real reason? That is, when the "real" reason could just turn out to be facade of lies and excuses? When people start smoking you and structuring their reasoning in a tangential manner, it's probably more important to recognise that they have no intentions of telling you the truth and it's just time to accept whatever that was said or happened as it is. It's quite pointless to attempt to crack past the treacherous wall to see the real face behind, only to irritate others and torture yourself. I guess that's why the adults I've talked to, either through internships or in school, have this "habit" of filtering out what people say. They tend to look at the bare essential of things, up to the point where sufficient knowledge is functional enough to serve its purpose. Let's say you want to schedule a meeting - it doesn't matter when else you are busy with whatsoever stuff and why you might be free at certain timings; basically, you just have to state when you want it to be and that's it. For many matters, I tend to elaborate on alot of useless stuff as I thought I ought to be accountable for whatever it is. But that's not really necessary actually. Many things could be reason or excuses, but since that doesn't change the decision or outcome, it's time to leave it as a black box and move on. Another way of looking at this is that we have to learn to be less concerned with factors that doesn't affect or change anything, and instead, divert this energy into executing actions or words or plans that make a difference. Random Joke Am reading my econometrics stuff, and came across this "graduation joke".
Lol. Anyway, I think that I'm lacking inspirations for blogging recently. =X Labels: Random @ 12:48 AM
Good day Project discussion till 8+, but with the bulk of the work churned out. Nice! Skyped with CS too, who's 6 hours away from us. 2 of our group mates brought mooncakes too, so it's quite a nice Mid Autumn Festival gathering too. Oh and I decided to give Olive Cove another chance by trying out its Tom Yam Noodle Soup (which I've been waiting to try since 1+yrs ago) - hmm, conclusion is that I wouldn't be going back Olive Cove for quite some time. Anyway, today's the deadline for IA application (I think), and I haven't made any changes nor withdrawn. Either ways, whether I'm going for IA or clearing modules, they ain't without risks and I guess I'm playing with dice. May everything turn out well! Oh, and I finally decided to email the department, after delaying for so long. Where's my determination to seek clarification the moment doubt occurs? Shld stop dragging my feet here and there, such that everything starts to accumulate at the critical point of time whereby I need an answer. Basically, I've been a confused person for the past few days with many matters clogging up my mind. They still continue to do so, but I think I'll just push them out of my mind from this point on. No point running around in circles. Tomorrow shall start on a brand new note! Oh and I can't wait for school to re-open actually! Lol. Sleep now for a refreshing day tomorrow! Good Tuesday Been an extremely satisfying 1.5hr. Was looking at the project statement for tomorrow's discussion and trying to have some headstart on the concepts. Learnt loads of stuff about Matlab/Simulink/Excel despite it being just a ~2hr session. The thrill from learning new stuff is simply inspiring and it excites me so to see what kind of results I can generate from my simulation runs. And eureka! I've gotten some results, but I'm not sure if that's the correct solution. Shall discuss with the rest tomorrow. One word - Shiok! That's the kind of productive work that I hope to engage myself in - learning so many things within just a short period of time; no lag time, no inefficiency. Quality, not quantity. :) Isn't it just coincidental? I happen to walk out of my room towards the tv at the point of time when the contestant on Channel u is starting to sing "Just One Last Dance". What's the probability of having someone sing an English song on a Chinese competition, given that the English song is relatively unknown even to those who are into Western songs? Furthermore, what's the probability of me catching it on tv at the point when it started (Actually quite high, if it's conditional upon the fact that the song will be performed lol.)? I dunno what to make of it, but this song always appear at the most random moment when I least expect it. To start it off, I first heard it on variety show on Channel U and I can't exactly rmb how I managed to figure out the song title from there. Maybe having no expectations gives you the pleasure of random surprises. And expectations could kill the joy of surprises or even bog you down with the feeling of anticipation when nothing is going to happen? Tuesday, September 21, 2010 @ 1:08 PM
Hello Simulink On a very random note, I can declare now that I'm acquainted with Simulink. Probably not my friend yet, unlike Matlab, but I'm sure we can 慢慢培养“感情”. Lol! Process dy project meeting tomorrow and I'm sure it's so gonna be another exciting experience in school! May our lucky aura stay with us! Wrt IA issue, I'm thinking of leaving it as it is now. Perhaps if I'm shortlisted for interview, I'd enquire about the possibility of going for 3 months instead for VIP. If it's not possible and they still want me, then I'd go ahead with IA. If the company's okay with it, I don't think the school can stop me from converting right? Perhaps I'd just get black faces that's all? I'm just not quite sure if that's a responsible decision on my part, since I might potentially deny another person of a placing, and also bring about administrative chaos. As for my project, I've checked and it seems that I can continue with it even if I'm away on IA, so that's not a major concern. The biggest point now could be whether I want to accelerate my graduation to just 4 years. Does IA outweigh the need to stay one more sem, or am I even bothered by that one more sem after all? Last issue, if I were to accelerate, am I sure I can cope with the huge amt of overloading? I don't think there'd be a big problem (22hr/week (7 mods) vs 23hr/week (6 mods now)), but nonetheless, it doesn't hurt to make a conservative estimate too. Can you believe it? Assuming sem 2's timetable is finalised, I can have 3 days week with my current 6 modules planned in - just awaiting the 7th module which is a TE. :O Been confused for the past few hours and am still confused. But the best way out could be to see things in a simple way. :) @ 1:17 AM
So awkward I think one of my biggest weakness is the lack of people skill. Often, I find myself ending up in awkward situations, not knowing what to do. Otherwise, I will just imagine some awkward situation that I might potentially be in, given the current situation, and end up getting into a real awkward situation. Other times, I find it hard to know instinctively the most appropriate way to behave, so I choose to be cold and quiet when I don't know what to do; but when I do do something, it's usually out of place. Guess I'm bad at interpretting situations, or to anticipate what's expected of me. Things in life that seem intuitive to many people actually ain't that obvious to me. My guiding principle thus far is to be true to what I believe in, but I'm not sure how appropriate this principle might be, and how valid the assumption that what i think I believe in is what I believe in and also whether my beliefs are acceptable in the first place (knowing my own "unique" and random way of looking at things). Anyhows, I dunno if it's better to be awkward in a situation whereby the other party is awkward, or at least thought to be awkward. The whole situation becomes such a major guesswork. And yes, I'm someone who thinks alot, so that doesn't help the situation, especially if it turns out to be that simple. The worst case scenario would be - what if all the parties involved are ppl who think alot too? Then lots of guesswork will be going on, when actually nothing is happening in reality nor will anything happen. I think that my ability to judge a situation or person is of reasonable standard. But the moment, "I" come into the picture, everything just goes haywire. Just can't decide well when I'm in the picture. Even the fact that I might be judged for my judgement could affect my judgement. I think my multiplicity layers of thoughts are overwhelming me again - and that signals that I should give my mind a timely rest. Someone once said that engineers might not be trained to be socially competent ppl and could feel awkward in situations, but the best way to overcome it is to talk to more people and pick up skills through experience. Let's hope that the person is right on this. Eyes on Me Hebe - 寂寞寂寞就好 It's ironical, isn't it? Sunday, September 19, 2010 @ 12:12 AM
Looking forward Come to think of it.. The company that I put as my top choice doesn't seem that bad after all. Or rather, all the companies that I've chosen (4 in total) are pretty good, if I were offered a place. It's a good thing that I cut out all the petroleum/oil companies because I really cant imagine myself doing that for 6 months. What I currently have on my list are pharmaceutical companies or R&D firms. It might be a good chance for me to explore what industrial research is about actually. So yup, I'm still fickle-minded but the IA site is no longer accessible. Either that, or my home network is unable to access the website. So whatever it is, I'll just have to see how things go ba.. Currrently watching Mo Gong on Channel 8 and it really captured my attention. Such intelligence in battle strategies by the Mo warrior. Nice one! Maybe when I'm free, I'll read up on Sun Zi Bin Fa. Really interesting. :) And now, I'm starting to enjoy my break, and be unbothered by all the small little things here and there. Oh and I really need to get my new running gears soon. Running with substandard shoes are making my knees hurt. Perhaps it's coincidental, but my speed seem to have decreased and it's tiring to run the usual distance that I cover. But then again, I think my condition hasn't been good for the past 2 weeks. Perhaps the solution is to rest more! Oh had a scary incident at Arts on Friday. Was going to submit my HW assignment, which is to be desposited on the 6th floor. Apparently, I was at the 5th floor and the stairs up led to another building. At another extreme end, I saw a door with staircase symbol on it hence logically, I walked towards it, thinking it'd lead me up. To my surprise.. It's an open area with metal stairways that sounds like it's gonna collapse any moment. Going up = dead end. Attempting to exit through the door I came out from - the door can't be opened from outside. Going down = another dead end - large drain; jumping across it will lead me to some hilly grass area. Yups, so I was locked out, with nowhere else to go. :O Fortunately, my frens were at Arts canteen and we were supp to meet again to go elsewhere so they came to save me! :) Luckily! Hmm and my handphone batt was low actually O.o I think we're all well-trained by our safety module, so we act conservatively and are paranoid, thus one of my fren was left outside the glass door just as a backup in case my other 2 frens are somehow locked somewhere as they enter to save me. LOL! Such a weird encounter, but nonetheless exciting adventure (because I was saved after all...) Alrights gotta concentrate on my show le! It's getting more and more disheartening as the reality of how the world work is slowly revealed. War is cruel because of the violence, deaths and killings that occur. Peacetime might be even worse when the complexity of the mind sets in. I like the statement - when you start questioning what's right and what's wrong, it means you are starting to lose faith and belief. Friday, September 17, 2010 @ 10:28 PM
Inability-to-make-decision syndrome/disorder Too fast; too furious. IA application is driving me crazy. Till the point that I suspect I'm suffering from some inability-to-make-decision syndrome/disorder. It's just like what the 10pm lawyer show depicts - when you cant make decision, you lose confidence and the worse the decision-making process become. My mind's just so cluttered with so many factors and variables that I can't carve a proper route out. So much so that I actually made a last minute appointment with my department mentor to consult his opinion. That's the very first time I'm emailing him over the past 2 odd years, and the second time I'm talking to him. I walked out of the room being more inclined towards not going for IA. Yet soon after, I began to doubt if that is indeed a correct choice - after all, IA is a once-off opportunity to experience what the industry is like. I can't really say it's not my cup of tea before I actually get down to doing it. However, the appeal of not going IA is there too - able to graduate in 4 years, take Forensic Science module next year, continue on the project I'm working on now. To be honest, I do prefer the second option. One main reason being, I'm not really that keen in joining the IA companies listed; otherwise, I'd be willing to stay one more sem just for the industrial exposure actually. Anyhows, it's quite unfortunate that I've "submitted" my application without myself really realising it, despite my fren giving me prior warning. Well, I was told that after ranking my preferred project, it's auto-submitted already, i.e. there's no specific "submit" button to click; but when I was at that page, this slipped my mind and I submitted my application already! :O There's no way to delete the submission and this is worrying me. Well I guess things ain't that bad yet as I believe I might still be able to withdraw through emailing the person-in-charge; probably irritating him/her in the process then. =X Maybe it's a sign that I should just press on with the IA plan? But then again, the philo module that I've been waiting for is finally offered next sem - that's a sign that I shld just stay in school rite? =S I really think I have major problem with making a commitment. I tend to overthink everything before finally settling down to make a commitment. It's just scary to think that I have to do certain things. It might be what I want, but the thought of "bonding" myself black and white or spoken scares me so. I can be self-motivated to commit myself to certain ends, but the need to communicate this commitment to others or to attach a date to such commitments is something that I can't handle well yet. Well then, in the first place, I guess I shouldn't give the false impression that I'm interested; which subsequently leads to an awkward situation whereby I withdraw from whatever I signed up for. And that happens alot. Generally speaking, companies have been rather forgiving to me by giving me repeated chances despite rejecting some of them previously; but there's a limit to what they can take, and there's this sense of irritatement about myself growing within me. So, as a rule of thumb, do only things that I'm interested in. Forget about practical considerations. Start only if I can forsee myself making the commitment at the end. Yups with this guide in mind, I think I shld go for VIP + stay in school next sem. Yeah. Assuming deadline is 22nd Sept, I will prob be sending in a withdrawal email sometime next week. Diffuse Been rather disoriented recently. Time to find my way back and re-align myself with.. hmm, whatever there is? lol. Today was rather happening, and a timely wake-up call for me too. Critical questioning serves to reveal what I think I knew but actually didn't. Simply highlights the need to understand what I'm doing to fully grasp the concepts and to integrate with other knowledge for the sake of real-world applications. What did I once say about learning to learn? It's really time to re-align myself with this aim in mind, as I seek to maximize the knowledge enquiry process over the remaining 7 weeks and over the term break for my project. It's quite pointless learning, or rather getting used to, the method of approaching a problem, without having in mind a clear idea what exactly I am processing. It's the feeling of finding intrinsic merits in knowledge that excited me previously, and that's the joy I'm trying to find back this time round. Once you're in sync with your work, work cease to become literally work, and nothing's a chore even if you're at it 24/7 (though not my intention either. haha :P) Wish to bring back a word that I said I'd forsake - diffuse. My mind's been pretty diffuse recently, probably diluted by the numerous things I have at hand now. But that's not an excuse since I already know what I'm in for when I first embarked on this path. The best I can and should do is to focus. But first, seek joy in what I'm doing and the focussing part will fall in naturally. Tomorrow's the last day of school before recess week. Really fast. Well, enjoy school while I'm still a student! Anyhows, I'm having second thoughts about going for IA - just 2 days before application close. =X In fact, I'm starting to have second thoughts about my 2nd degree - again. But that's just minor. Looking forward to the break - so gonna "re-calibrate" myself. hahaha. Monday, September 13, 2010 @ 8:43 PM
Long weekend = rest...? Long weekend has been a great one! Good rest period and managed to clear some work too. Should have started this week refreshed and recharged, but there's part two to the story.. Friday was dinner outing with some of my JC cliques! Happy Belated 21st QH! :) Had steamboat buffet @ Vivo Bei Shang Chuan. Not too bad - there were big juicy crabs too! I like! Basically I'm a seafood lover, so I just keep attacking the scallop and lala. Beef was good too! At least it's 90% meat, vs some other beef which was 80% fats =S Overall not too bad a dining experience. Choice was limited though. Oh there's this DIY ice cream station, which we can't really figure out how exactly to use. Still, did manage to scrap some ice cream from that liquid mass. It was a good chillout and catching up session for me. I prefer small group gatherings sometimes. Hope it has been a good session for the (belated) birthday girl too. :) Saturday and Sunday was work, though at a leisure pace. Finally a good "long" period of time for me to sit down, think through and consolidate my thoughts. Much as I adore efficiency, I've learnt to slow down my pace so that I can appreciate and absorb the knowledge that I'm processing. Really don't wanna be a machine that converts qn/problem inputs into mere numerical answers. But I'm practical as well - if I have the luxury of time to slowly think over things, maybe true learning can be achieved (well.. more like, if there's too much time, I'd end up doing nothing though =X); yet time is in scarcity. Prof Tan was right in this aspect - things are happening too fast in a uni semester for students to think. I wonder if we have taken a step back in learning with all the jiapatlang requirements, eg. GEM/SS/Electives in place.Seems like they're there for the sake of showing that indeed we have a "broad" exposure, but whether or not this has been achieved isn't conclusive. So here comes Part II of the story. Had safety online meeting on Sunday night which went on till almost 3am at night. Woke up at 6am today for school. I'm quite amazed at my ability to stay awake for the entire day, or even to feel rather refreshed intially. Hahaha.. Either I'm used to lack or sleep, or my body has developed the ability to rejuvenate itself efficiently. In any case, my brain isn't functioning at its optimal - of that I'm sure. Yups, during our cyclone days, I promised there won't be any more late nights - it happened again, but this time I'm definitely sure that I don't want it to repeat again. Things will get more efficient and on-time (no more last min rush) for process control! :) So yeah, there you have me - the half-functioning individual on the brand new start of the week. Aim: Sleep at 11pm today for an exciting day tomorrow! Oh yes today is a lucky purple Monday :) Hmm and it's the last week of Part I to this semester. Really fast. Attended the last lecture of one Prof today. Things are really ending too soon, too fast and too furious. This is actually my last sem of "core chem eng". Beyond this, it's all enhancement program or electives and fyp/design project. Basically, there's only 3 sems worth of hardcore chem eng - and I'm glad I discovered my interest in it soon enough to enjoy all 3 sems to the max. =) Friday, September 10, 2010 @ 1:38 PM
Of Conviction 范瑋琪 - 最初的夢想
我不晓得自己最初的梦想是什么,也不知道现在追求的是否真是自己想要的。但既然已沿着这条路踏上第一步了,就应完完全全地投入;不为什么,而是给自己的一种交待。 Been rather snappy recently, especially towards those working with me. Time to leave the troubles/headaches of yesterday to history, and begin each day on a fresh new note. Brand new tomorrow will never come if I allow the weights of yesterday to burden my footsteps of today. Having taken a step forward in getting rid of some of my bad habits, it seemed as though I have reversed all my past efforts or even taken two steps back over the past few days/weeks. Withdrawn back to the me who overthinks too much for my own good or for any useful work to be done; the one who uses those thoughts that didn't matter to run away from the crucial issue at hand. Well, time to walk out of it again in the same way I hope I've done previously. Welcome today with a smile. Quite a nice song. But never say die, cos the limit has yet to be reached. The question to ask is, is there a limit in the first place? @ 12:06 AM
Rest Yay! Long weekend. Really need the rest. Been rather high-strung recently. Need to clear and "equilibrate" my mind soon, so that I don't get peeved at small little things which diverts my attention and energy away from other things that require more priorities. In fact I think I've been overly-bothered by small little details for the past few days that it hinders my ability to see the overall big picture. And maybe the best I can do now is to sleep now, so that my mind can catch some rest and be in a better state to think. Alrights, may the aura of positivity stay with me! Great (lucky) week Hmm received an email about the passing on of an engineering prof due to traffic accident. I dunno who he is before this, and I dunno what to say too; but I'm just feeling quite saddened and disturbed by this fact. Today's a good day! Seems like almost every day this week is a lucky one. The best thing that happened today was my cake "dinner" with my dsta mentor. It's quite unfortunate that I actually lost my way though and she had to pick me up from the MRT after making her way down to the shop :S That was quite malu. Anyway, I din know Outram Park MRT was that complicated such that to get to Exit F, you have to literally exit the MRT and enter from Exit E to get to the other end. Anyway, the wrong exit that I took was actually at the HSA end... I walked past this Block 9 building, which writes Forensics... Well, it was once like a dream job to me; but I guess it's also something that has slipped past me? But anyways, since I have found another path that I'm quite fixed on for now, it's time to move on. Actually, I do suddenly have an idea on how I can incorporate elements of forensics into what I'm doing now. Do need some time to consolidate my thoughts though, and I'll see how things go then... Back to topic, it was a nice chit-chat session with my mentor. I guess we all need different groups of people with different "characteristics' for different "experience"? Sometimes it's acting suspicious/paranoid, being nonsensical, being crazy; sometimes it's serious talk about the future etc; and other times, it's just a simple talk with both parties listening. Basically, I cleared up some of the dilemmas/headaches I created for myself over the past hours. It wasn't direct advise, but as I talked, my mind began to clear up. Yup so just as a note to myself.. I've decided to go on with IA after all, if there's any company that wants me (and that I want..) - and I believe it's time to search for companies that might be my potential target. I've re-affirmed that I'm happy doing what I'm doing now and that I'm under good mentorship/supervision; so it's time to forget about all the small random and insignificant events; and return to the more natural and less paranoid me. On a separate note, I've shared with some of my friends a short-term future plan that I'm currently considering - and I'm glad they didn't think that I'm crazy or psychotic. Or rather I should say that, I'm grateful that the serious matters I was talking about wasn't treated as a joke. So with these short-term plans/goals in mind, I shall continue enjoying my life as a "busy" student - this time I will learn to co-exist harmoniously with busy-ness. I've finally checked it out and indeed the old wise prof has retired. Or at least, he's no longer teaching a particular module anymore. So technically speaking, we were his last batch of students for the module. Looking back, I think it was a waste that I didn't interact with him previously. I think he will have lots of life stories to share based on the wealth of experiences he had. Still, he was really inspiring... I realise I have the bad habit of offering several possibilities, but as I guide others through a particular choice, I tend to withdraw from that option and hop on to the next choice - and the process goes on. It's time to learn to make a clear and frank stand. Yup, I should reinforce this in myself - I'm the one who knows myself best. No more running around in circles and being wishy-washy about everything. Offering a possibility that I know I won't commit to has an effect akin to making empty promises actually on further thoughts. Time to quit this habit! Went to Comex with two of my uni frens today. Wohoo! Mobile phone level was yum! But the phones on display weren't really the sets that I was looking out for though =X And quite paiseh that I had to rush off aruptly.. Ipod touch had revised pricing. Targetting 32 GB at $398. Guess I won't buy it now. Perhaps after I start IA (if I do get it) - then my pay will start coming in! :) Yup so that's that. Shall embrace the weekend and brace myself for another exciting new week. Seems like more things are upcoming for lab and I'm quite excited about it! Even though I'm tempted to say that I'm actually quite worried about making mistakes, I shouldn't let this very thought be the 绊脚石 that makes me 裹足不前。 :) @ 12:49 AM
Busy with ? Yes, I gotta say, I'm busy and I'm feeling the heat now. Or maybe another way of saying it is that, I'm not getting the hang of proper time management, and am not prioritising my activities properly? This was something that I promised myself that I'll figure out along the way soon, and it's the very same thing that I haven't achieved thus far. For example, I'm now on blogger and facebook even though I'm supposed to be doing my tutorial for tomorrow? The irony is that, I'm not exactly that busy with proper work. Somehow I have many jiatpalang stuff that's bothering me here and there; things that ain't exactly the point yet I cant simply ignore or disregard, yet they're occupying a sufficient part of my time to divert my attention away from proper work. Overloading isn't the one causing me all these busy-ness; lab work isn't bogging me down even though admittedly, I have to spend quite a fair share of time physically in lab, or being occupied in the mind thinking about lab - but it's also the time when I feel most at ease and even relaxed, that is, if nothing goes wrong. Simply put, I'm everywhere at any time for small little events here and there, that I can't even pinpoint nor recall. But yup, I'm just busy somehow. It's even worse when I try to shelf things lowest on my priority because they'd accumulate at the back of my mind, yet I'll soon forget what exactly they are cos my RAM is occupied by new waves of activities. In fact, I have this feeling that nothing's too insignificant to write in my organiser, and I'll make it a habit to write everything and anything down - nothing's too trivial. Okay, back to work but my brain's not exactly functioning... Thursday, September 02, 2010 @ 12:33 AM
Bits and Pieces of thoughts Everyone can be busy; it's just a matter of how the activities are prioritised and how the partition of time is managed. The nature of activity cannot be compared easily, hence the degree of busy-ness cannot be quantified for comparison. Ask and you will be given - that's an important lesson I've learnt over the past few weeks or months. Nobody will be there to spoon feed you anything; anyway that's not a healthy habit either. If you need something, ask. Don't bother anticipating that thing to drop from the sky - that's not going to happen. But of course, ask wisely and selectively; don't be an irritant. |
